“A BRAND NEW YOU” SEMINAR HITS THE MARK

Tiverton based company Ken Whites, market leaders in golf signage, LAUNCHED a pioneering inspirational half-day seminar/workshop entitled “A Brand New You” aimed at local businesses and Golf Course Managers.   The event was held on the 8 November at Padbrook Park, Cullompton with businesses and Golf Clubs from all over the South West attending.  Guests were given tips and techniques to help them find their true potential in business and all areas of their life, including improving their game of golf!

Ken Whites, who specialise in brand development, signs, corporate clothing, design & print and website services, as well as full golf signage, organised the event, which involved interaction between guest speakers and the audience of more than 50.  The day aimed to have something for everyone and commenced with a welcome address from Chris Whites, General Manager, and Martyn Lane Golf Sales Manager of Ken Whites.

The day “teed” off with Dave Newbrook and Gary Scarsgill, senior management of Padbrook Park talking about the state-of-the-art facilities to be found at the hotel, including the covered driving range featuring the amazing power tee system.  Senior Golf Pro, Richard Coffin demonstrated the “frame” which is an aid to help golfers improve their golf swing   Martin Rogers the Commercial Manager of Tiverton Town Football Club then “kicked off the day “ with a potted history of his career and how the football club operates as a business, working closely with the local community.  Glen King, formerly a media spokesperson for Camelot, the Operators of “The National Lottery”, gave a presentation on today’s most powerful marketing tool in the business community, “The Art of Networking” with guests having the opportunity to practise the tips and techniques in the break out sessions. 

A fascinating session by Ann Ross, an Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Master, one of only 25 in the world, focused on how you can dispel self-doubts and mental blocks utilising EFT techniques, which will give you peak performance, improving your game of golf and transform your life.  EFT is like acupuncture without the needles by utilising the fingertips.

During the event, there was also an opportunity for guests to try out their putting skills in a competition to “hit the target” with a free prize draw of a round of golf courtesy of Padbrook Park.

The Ken Whites team closed the proceedings with a light hearted sketch based on the Fawlty Towers series to show the audience the importance of good branding and signage to enhance the image of their company, with an Oscar winning performance by Martyn Lane, Golf Sales Manager, who played the parts of three characters.

The event culminated with a networking lunch, plus a prize draw for a weekend West Country break for two donated by Ken Whites and the opportunity to have free taster sessions with the Padbrook Park Golf Pros on the Driving Range.  Many guests took advantage of playing a round of golf in the afternoon to practice the techniques guests had learnt during the seminar.
