AWARD WINNING OUTLET IN EXETER LAUNCHES "CASH FOR SCHOOLS" CAMPAIGN

With over 1000 stores in twelve countries, catering for businesses and the general public alike Cartridge World is a world leader in its field.  Local successful businessman Craig Collins runs the Exeter, Exmouth and Plymouth outlets and is proud to boast that the Exeter shop (outside of the company’s Head Office) has consistently been the No. 1 store, worldwide with Plymouth running a close third!

Craig was a finalist in The Official British Franchise Association’s Annual Awards Scheme 2004 when he was up against some big names including McDonalds, Driver Hire and Clarks Shoes, and the awards don’t stop there!  Through its in-store loyalty card scheme, called “Help with tree scheme that ‘leaves’ the world a greener place”, Cartridge World was short listed as a finalist in the National Recycling Awards held in October this year.  This followed the successful environmental campaign; Plant a Tree not a Cartridge (PATNAC) in partnership with the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce UK).  Customers refilled empty cartridges, or alternatively returned empty laser or toner cartridges to their local stores, collecting stamps on a card in exchange for tree planting.  As a result, 3000 trees were planted to create a new wood in the National Forest with a further 3000 in regional locations around the UK helping to improve the quality of life.

This has not only helped to ensure there will be sufficient trees for future generations, but also reduced the number of empty cartridges dumped in landfill, which in the UK alone is in excess of 47 million a year!  That’s enough to fill 3 Olympic size swimming pools and each cartridge takes over 450 years to decompose, giving a clear message:  Refill Not Landfill!

Quote from Craig Collins:

“We are constantly looking at ways to improve our customer service to ensure that both businesses and the general public want to come back again and again whilst helping to save the environment.  Our aim is to provide the highest quality merchandise and service at all times and the great thing is that because our products are so cost effective, we can also save the customer money in the process!”

Constantly looking at ways to put something back into the community, Craig is about to launch a ‘Cash for Schools’ campaign via his three Devon outlets, which begins in the New Year to coincide with the new school term.  This is open to any school, university, college, crèche, nursery or educational facility in the designated areas of Exeter, Exmouth or Plymouth.

Quote from Craig Collins:

“Not only will the scheme help with school fund raising, but also save them money, as well as helping to protect the environment by preventing more plastic cartridges finding their way into our local landfill sites.  No catches, no gimmicks ~ just a way of helping schools, and it won’t cost them a penny”!

How does it work?

Cards will be supplied to each participating school, which are directly relevant to their establishment.  The school will then give the cards to pupils to pass on to their friends and family for use when they have a cartridge refilled or purchase compatible printer cartridge at any of the three designated Cartridge World stores.  Each and every time £10 or more is spent, the purchaser will produce the card for stamping and Craig will credit the relevant school with £2 for every stamp on the card. The school can then spend the credit on printers, paper, consumables or any of the many other items Cartridge World supply.

The scheme is only available at Exeter, Exmouth and Plymouth, which will not cause a problem, as these outlets are one of the main suppliers of printer cartridges to many local schools already. Should any school wish to participate, please contact Cartridge World, Exeter on 01392 684 684.

Did you know that Cartridge Word is also very competitive with NEW ORIGINAL CARTRIDGES?   As an added value, when a business opens a Business Account at these stores, they will get £5 off their first order, with the peace of mind that they will get a 30 day account, the highest quality goods with a 100% money back guarantee and in most cases same day delivery.  They will even carry out a full audit of your business printers free of charge to show you how much you can save, together with a free, no obligation quote.

NOTE TO EDITOR:

Since its launch in 1988 in Australia, Cartridge World has become one of the most successful franchise organisations in the world with a simple concept of recycling printer cartridges and saving people money with no loss of quality guaranteed!

Cartridge World is a global company with over 280 UK stores and has won awards for its environmental initiatives. In addition to its stores in the UK, Cartridge World is also established in New Zealand, Australia and more recently Switzerland, Singapore, Poland, Canada and the USA. To date there are over 1000 franchises Worldwide and this is expected to reach over 1500 by the end of 2006.

As a nation, we throw in excess of 47 million empty cartridges into landfill sites and through its PATNAC initiative, encouraging people to ‘refill not landfill’; Cartridge World has already saved 2 million cartridges from such sites.
