GLEN KING: GLEN KING – PR / MARKETING Limited:
Initially Glen had a career in Lloyds Bank working for the Devon & Cornwall Head Office based in Exeter. Glen has since stepped into a number of varying roles in different industry sectors before joining Camelot, operators of The National Lottery in 1994, having an active role in the historical and exciting launch of The National Lottery in 1994. Glen was Deputy Regional Centre Manager (SW), playing a major part in running the South West Office based in Exeter, paying out the major Lottery winners and organising press conferences.
Glen was a Media spokesperson for Camelot giving TV, Radio and journalist interviews around the UK, and as a trained public speaker, gave talks to more than 3000 people in both the public and private sectors. Within her role, Glen was involved in training Lottery Retailers, proactively raising the profile of Camelot though PR, marketing and sponsorship, as well as organising/hosting exhibitions, receptions, seminars, workshops and celebrity charity events and Golf Days.
After 8 years with Camelot, the company took the commercial decision to close 6 offices out of 10 of which Exeter was one. Fortunately, Glen was given a large number of job offers. Glen decided to join a local insurance broker as their marketing manager, a role created specifically for her. This enabled Glen to further develop her contacts within the business community and in particular the SME market, working in close liaison with Willis Professional Risks, an international broker and the largest commercial insurance broker in the UK.
In 2003, Gemini Radio offered Glen the position of a non-executive directorship on the Local Advisory Board. It was a natural progression for Glen to set up in business on her own as a PR & Marketing consultant.
Glen’s reputation: Promising to deliver and delivering on her promise
