Haines Watts Cornwall
Award-winning Accountants help raise funds for local children’s hospice at Launceston Agricultural Show
August 03, 2016
The partners and team of Haines Watts Cornwall welcomed clients, associates and professionals to their hospitality marquee at Launceston Agricultural Show. Guests enjoyed hot beverages; wine and light refreshments including ever popular strawberries & cream.
The multi-award winning accountants who opened their new Launceston Office in April this year, sponsored the ‘Creative Community Tent’ at the one-day show. Haines Watts also helped to raise funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), Little Harbour with a fun charity competition. Visitors to the Haines Watts’ stand had to guess the number of balloons in a tractor, kindly loaned by Short & Abbott, for the chance to win a number of prizes, helping to raise £267.50 for the local worthy cause.
CHSW has three children’s hospices in the South West, including Little Harbour in St Austell, for children with life limiting or life threatening illnesses. The children and their families visit Little Harbour for short breaks; respite; palliative care, as well as emergency stays, end of life care and bereavement support. The whole family is looked after, with the burden of medical needs taken care of by the specialist care teams, so they can enjoy precious time together and create special memories.
Lorna Damella, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at CHSW said: “It costs over £3 million a year to run Little Harbour so support from local businesses and the community is so important to us as charity. On behalf of all of the children and families that we support, I would like to thank Haines Watts Cornwall for their generosity and also helping to raise awareness of CHSW in the local area.”
