It was a welcome return to Torquay for the annual conference of Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation SW (CIHT) following last year’s successful event at The Grand Hotel. After the conference, a VIP evening drinks reception was hosted in the Hotel’s library. The black-tie awards dinner attracted 160 guests from across the South West construction industry, who enjoyed a magical evening with mesmerising close-up magic from local magician, Dan Brazier and entertainment from Casino Select.
With over 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK; over 13,000 people in Devon alone, Alzheimer’s Society (Devon & Cornwall office) was the CIHT SW designated charity for the evening.
A charity raffle raised £1480 for this worthy local cause. The monies will go towards the charity being there for people affected with dementia and helping fund the vital research to find a cure for this disease that effects 850,000 living in the UK with over 13,000 people in Devon alone.
